Pivot report on release phases without duplicating columns

All of our releases use the same release template and they have identical release phase names (naturally, the dates are different).

I want the ability to create the following pivot report:

  (columns) Release phase name
(rows) Release name (cells) Release phase date

Currently, this report isn't possible as release phases with the same name break out into several columns (i.e. "Development" is listed several times rather than having just a single column).

The goal of this report is to communicate the dates for various "gates" in our product development process across multiple releases.

It would be very helpful if we had the option to consolidate columns with identical names.

Yes, please! My ask is for the calendar view though...

All of our releases have MANY release phase steps, which are the same across the releases. We (unfortunately) have this painful internal process in which the same phase across different releases may overlap. Allowing release phases of the same name to be on the same row in the calendar view would help us to visually SEE this overlap.
