Add Description to Required Fields by Status

What is the challenge?

• The standard Description field is not available to select in Required Fields by Status. While Description is available as a required field when creating a record, copied records can bypass required-create fields and move forward without a complete description.

• Other standard fields, such as Start Date and End Date, are available in Required Fields by Status, but Description is not.

What is the impact?

• Description is required for our downstream integration and record quality standards. Without it, records can move toward integration without all required information, creating incomplete data, integration failures, and manual cleanup.

• This creates an inconsistent experience: records created through the standard process are expected to contain the required details, while copied records can progress with missing information.

Describe your idea.

• Add the standard Description field as an available option in Required Fields by Status for applicable record types.

• When configured as required, Aha! should prevent a record from advancing to the selected status until Description is populated.

• The validation should apply consistently to newly created, copied, and duplicated records so all records meet the same data-quality requirements before attempting integration.
