Users can easily miss that filters are currently applied on feature boards and other views where filters can be collapsed. Because filters remain in a static order, an active filter may be hidden in the collapsed section, making it hard to see which filters are affecting the view or to locate and adjust a specific filter quickly.
Users may misinterpret what they are seeing, assuming they are looking at an unfiltered view when filters are actually in effect.
Extra time is spent hunting for which filters are applied and where they are located in the collapsed filter row.
Sort all filters that are currently in use to appear first in the filter list so that active filters are most likely to be visible and easy to access.
Apply a clear visual treatment (for example, bold label, distinct color, or badge) to any filter that is currently in effect so it is immediately obvious which filters are active.
Use this behavior consistently across the features board and any other views that support collapsible filters.
