What is the challenge? |
Long notes become unwieldy to write, read, and edit. This makes it difficult to review, consume and share detailed content. |
What is the impact? |
The lack of collapsible sections and document navigation menu means one has to scroll extensively to review content across different sections. One has to continuously go back and forth between the document's body and the Table of content by keying ctrl + Home. Also, the "Home" keyboard key only leads to the top of the document of the document and below the Table of Contents, so one also has to scroll to the top of that. Finally, the headings of the table of contents are not collapsible either, so viewing the list itself may require scrolling. |
Describe your idea |
Make the content of sections/headings collapsible by hierarchy with a chevron ">" or similar. This will improve the ability to write and consume content for necessarily long notes, alongside improved document navigation (see the related Idea below). For reference, we use long notes for various purposes, such as: user research findings, summarising new policy and industry standards, issuing design guidelines, and brainstorming lists of early requirements prior to committing them to Features and Epics, etc. |
