Calculate progress (as percentage complete) by calendar time (end date, release date, etc)

Requesting the addition of an option to calculate progress (% complete) by calendar time. This may seem counter intuitive at first. However, some features and releases are geared toward "monitoring". Therefore, progress is truly based on time. Rather than calculating % complete manually it would be great to have that auto populate.
