Better way to associate detailed estimates with a capacity team

Many teams want to use team capacity planning for making initial estimates at the team level, then they want to use detailed estimates to view more accurate plans as work is broken down and estimated in their development tool.

When using team capacity planning, initial estimates are associated to a specific team. But the detailed estimates are only associated back to a team based on the work item's assigned user.

I don't want to manage the individual members of my team within Aha! - this is far too much work. I just want to manage the capacity of the overall teams I work with. But - for me to associate a detailed estimate back to a team, I need to maintain the individuals within a team.

A workaround I often use is creating a fake "team" user who I can set as the assignee of a record. This "team" user cannot be a virtual user (since they need to be assigned a record). I also need to manipulate this one user to have the same capacity as the entire team so that the capacity report appears accurate. I can do this by changing the user's schedule for points per day, but if a team estimates in hours I cannot have this one user do more than 24 hours per day.

Long story short - there is no easy way to associate detailed estimates to the team for capacity reporting.

Either complete inability to bring in detailed estimates when using team capacity planning, or a complicated workaround to get this working if I estimate in story points.

A simple way to associate a work item to a capacity team that is not the assignee. A capacity team field, or inheriting the same team used in the advanced estimate would be great.
