Notify users when their comment is Liked

What is the challenge?

Users don’t receive any notifications when their comments are Liked. This makes Likes essentially invisible to the comment author, reducing their usefulness as a signal of agreement or engagement.

What is the impact?

  • People miss positive feedback or agreement from other users on their comments.

  • Internal team members may overlook helpful or high-impact comments.

  • It reduces opportunities for follow-up, discussion, or recognition.

  • Likes become a passive metric with limited practical value for engagement.

Describe your idea

Add notifications for when a comment receives a Like. This could include:

  • In-app notifications (e.g. "Someone liked your comment on [Idea Title]")

  • Optional email notifications, depending on user preferences

  • Possibly a digest view for internal users (e.g., “Most liked comments this week”)

Ideally, this would be configurable so organizations can choose whether notifications go to portal users, internal users, or both.

  • Attach files
