Validation for tags
What is the challenge? |
Currently, Aha accepts any duplicates of tags. While each tag has a distinct color, this can still lead to confusion upon selecting the right tag. |
What is the impact? |
It's easy for a user to select the wrong similarly named tag or create a tag that already exists because there is no validation for duplicate tags. In addition, tag deletion cannot easily be done by a user but only via submitting a Remedy ticket. |
Describe your idea |
Have Aha validate a tag upon submission with the message, "The <XX> tag already exists. Create a new unique tag." |

Currently when typing a tag name the field will automatically search. If the tag matches an existing tag it can only be selected. This prevents a duplicate tag from being created.
