Promoting an Idea to an Exiting Feature or Epic Does not Update Idea to Planned Merged

What is the challenge?

When the team promotes an idea to a new feature or epic, the idea status updates to planned. When the team promotes an idea to an existing feature or epic, the idea status does not automatically update. There is not a straightforward way to handle this through automation.

What is the impact?

Proliferation of ideas in the wrong status after having been promoted...causing confusion and providing inaccurate status information to the submitters.

Describe your idea

Automatically have the idea status flip to planned upon promotion to an existing epic or feature much like it works upon promotion to a new epic or feature. If this is not possible, create a standard field for ideas that flips to Y once the idea is promoted. This would allow automation to be able to easily handle flipping the status to planned: if promoted flag = y, update status to planned.
