What is the challenge? |
There is a feature which displays in a request with text of "Potential duplicates were discovered." By clicking on a hypertext link of 'Review', there is a display of the potential duplicates. This feature is useful only when this matching is restricted to ideas in Production. It is not useful and is unnecessary when the matching is between Production and Sandbox workspaces. It is expected that there will be duplicates at times in these differing environments, such as for migrated data and testing activities, and it is not expected that there will be activities initiated such as merging. |
What is the impact? |
Flagging matches between Prod and Sandbox leads inevitably to such a feature being ignored, due to the high rate of false positives. |
Describe your idea |
Only flag potential duplicates in Prod workspace, not Sandbox. If this would be deemed problematic for some customers, make this a configuration option so that customers could change it as they wish. |
Piggy backing off of this this submission - We use different workspaces for our different products. Right now it is by default looking for duplicates across all the workspaces, which is resulting in hundreds of false positives. In effect, it is making this feature almost impossible to use as it is just creating unnecessary noise.
