Show both Phases AND Epics on a Gantt chart
What is the challenge? |
While we can make use of both epics and phases on a given Schedule (aka Release), we have no way visualize both in the same Gannt chart. |
How would you solve it? |
Create a new Gannt Type option for "Schedules, phases, epics, and activities" (or their corresponding terminologies for Product workspaces) |
What impact would it make? |

What is the challenge? The feature level is too detailed to share with high level execs. I need the option to show at an enterprise level, phases and milestone dates. The strategic roadmap does not include milestones or phases. What is the impact?...

This would not just be useful but is pretty essential. When looking at releases and phases in this view, we are operating and a high level. To only be able to see detailed features and not their higher level epics is quite limiting and lessens the usefulness of this view.
For example, if we have planned and estimated at the epic level and features do not yet exist, this view is of no use,
It would be helpful to see Initiative, Releases, and Features in one gantt chart (e.g. the Strategic roadmap), as it enables us to show dependencies between all record types. For instance, if a feature from team A may be a blocker for team B to do end-to-end testing for a release.
